NEMBRO PUBLIC LIBRARY

Edited by Laura Andreini
Texts by Françoise Bollack, Luca Molinari

The library of Nembro has been designed by Studio Archea in response to the requests of the municipal administration that wanted to create a new civic library by adapting an existing building, to which a newly built unit has been added. The latter building, designed by Archea between 2002 and 2007, appears as a box of glass and steel, with a sunscreen that reflects the purpose of the building, namely to house books. The walls are formed of three parts, in glass, steel and red-glazed terracotta, unites technology and functionality in a single innovative axiom, relating to the playful aspect inherent in this project.

Forma presents this project, in the monograph in a bilingual edition, Italian/English through the images and the technical drawings from Archea. Enriches the volume an introductory essay by the architect Luca Molinari, critic of architecture and author of many publications and a critic essay by Françoise Bollack architect and professor at the Columbia University.
