The historic Soldi Café in Forte dei Marmi has been brought back to life through an interior design project that embraces its evolution while preserving its heritage. The renovation has transformedboth the indoor spaces and the outdoor terrace into a more contemporary, refined, and cohesiveenvironment, restoring new prominence to a place deeply rooted in the daily life of Forte dei Marmi.

The design strikes a carefully balanced dialogue between historical identity and contemporarylanguage. The interiors have been reimagined through a harmonious composition of materials, lighting, and bespoke details, creating an atmosphere that is both welcoming and sophisticated. Marble takes center stage throughout the project, used for flooring, countertops, wall cladding, and architectural volumes. It introduces natural brightness and a sense of material continuity, payingtribute to the renowned stoneworking tradition of the Apuan–Versilia region. Its distinctive veiningcreates rich, dynamic surfaces that interact beautifully with the deep green seating, the burnishedfinishes of the bar counter, and the warm rhythm of the slatted ceiling.

Reinterpreted as the focal point of the space, the bar counter combines transparency, metal, and soft curved geometries, becoming the café’s visual centerpiece and the meeting point between service, conviviality, and architectural expression. The dining area unfolds with a fluid layout, alternatingtables, upholstered seating, and display niches, while carefully designed lighting enhances the depthof the materials and accompanies the guest experience throughout the day.

Outdoors, the new terrace continues the project’s narrative through coordinated furnishings, textured fabrics, and large canopies that define a protected yet inviting urban setting. The result is a renewed yet familiar environment, where the legacy of the historic Soldi Café meets a contemporary aesthetic, elegant, timeless, and deeply connected to the unique character of Forte dei Marmi.
